Frinton Press Wrapping Paper

Frinton Press's wrapping papers arrived today!
The papers came rolled up in a really nice triangular prism (I do know a lot of words for a foreigner, don't I? ...To tell you the truth, I heavily rely on the dictionary on Mac and this time was not an exception. Such a cheat I am. Proudly too.)
All the wrapping papers are seriously good and seeing my design presented with all the amazing designs of the other artists made me cheerful and joyful after a day of hard work.

Frinton Press are organising a group show to exhibit the wrapping paper + other works of all artists involved in the wrapping paper project too. The private view of the show will be on 25/Nov/2010 at Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes off Old Street, London.
I think they're having live screen printing and all exciting activities on top of things like meeting interesting creatives and being boozed up on Thursday night.

It would be fantastic if any of you reading this blog can make it there. I will definitely be there too!

Twittered.

Long time no blog!

A friend of mine recently reminded me I hadn't updated my blog for ages. I said to her I don't blog much nowadays because I use Twitter. She was properly disgusted. She disapproves of Twitter on the same level as I disapprove of the existence of celery sticks dipped in peanuts butter (I know I know it's freaky isn't it. Please tell my boyfriend. He thinks it's normal. I have no idea where his definition of normality stems from and having know his celery-peanut addiction, I'm pretty sure I don't want to know).
Another friend of mine I had lunch with today told me she writes on her blog a lot. And she
indeed does write very interesting stuff and I find myself going back to check it ever so often.

Anyway in a nutshell, I decided to add another entry to my long forgotten blogspot.com.

However,
I blurb my creative finds and interesting this and that on Twitter so much, that I'm finding myself empty of things worth mentioning here.

So, I'm doing not-the-most-interesting-thing-to-do on this blog today. I'm putting some of my recent illustrations.

By the way I've just remembered something worth mentioning as I was waiting for the image to be uploaded.
I watched Mauvais Sang, aka The Night is Young by Leos Carax tonight. I do believe the film is one of the best creation in the history of film making so I recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it.
I've just checked the dvd cover and found the film was actually made in 1986. 1 9 8 6 ...!? I was four when this film was made but it doesn't look dated at all. Apparently Leos Carax was going out with Juliette Binoche back then. Well, having seen the film just now, may I say, it's pretty obvious he loved her so much. She is just stunning in the film. I'd easily give it ★★★★★.

Brighton Uni Degree Show 2010

I've been to the Brighton Uni's Degree Show Private View last weekend.
Oh this year again, it was such a whirl-pool of talents on display.
Here's a couple of exhibits I really liked.

Graphic design student Miss Claire Murray's work can be seen right by the entrance of the 2nd floor studio. W a n t t h a t p o s t e r...!

Illustration student Miss Alice Pattullo's work. Colourful, playful, wonderful. Her business card was the best business card I've ever pick up in my life (and I must say, I do pick up a lot of business cards).
It was a mouth-shaped, hand screen-printed gem.

Lovely Daphne Christoforou blows your mind away with her quality creation. The two frames on the sides are actually interactive animation on computer screens sandwiching a printed-out digital collage in the middle. I highly recommend anyone to play around with the animation. It's so oh-my-god-how-does-she-do-this!?

Big thumbs up.
